Dans notre région, de tradition industrielle, le savoir-faire s’exprime depuis plusieurs siècle au travers de cristal, de faïence, de pâte de verre et d’émaux. Désormais connue internationalement, cette technique propre à la Lorraine est toujours exploitée par des artisans locaux et présentées dans différents musées.

Le Cristal Verre de Lorraine

The crystal conveys a refined image of Lorraine throughout the world. There are different creations, ranging from masterful chandeliers to finely decorated glass services, not to mention the sulphides and paperweights which affirms the reputation of the oldest crystal factory in France in Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche. We find this crystal, worked for more than four centuries throughout the region. As well in Baccarat, as in Lemberg or Nancy (Daum crystal factory).

La Grande Place, St-Louis Crystal Museum

The museum presents 1,500 historical works produced at the four-hundred-year-old royal factory. The areas of excellence of Saint-Louis are highlighted, and in particular colored crystal, cutting and gilding. Presentation of the evolution of this craft which has made the Pays de Bitche known.

Vallerysthal crystal factory

Founded in 1907, this crystal factory is located in the stronghold of the master crystal makers. She practices blowing and sculpting molten crystal.
